Choose what notifies you
Turn each kind on or off from Settings → Notifications.

Open Settings → Notifications. Each row has its own switch: likes, comments, new followers, mentions, reposts, community invites and messages. Mute all silences everything without changing your choices.
Push notifications also need permission from your phone: iPhone Settings → Ting → Notifications → Allow.
Many replies on one post arrive as one notification that updates its count, not as dozens of separate alerts.
