In-app banners
A banner at the top of the screen while you use the app: swipe to dismiss, tap to open, reply from it.

New messages, typing and other alerts appear as a banner at the top while you are elsewhere in the app. Tap it to go there, swipe it up to dismiss, or pull it down to reply to a message without leaving what you were doing. A ping arrives with its own bell banner, a strong vibration and its chime.
